CLUTCH. Machining radial slots in the clutch appears to have overcome the trouble of the driving plate buckling. The clutch, however, still has the fault of causing the car to shudder when the load is picked up on the low gear or on the reverse. We are trying different friction material as well as the schemes sent through from W.W.

PETROL TAP. If we use the vacuum tank the petrol tap on the rear tank is not of much use. In any case, a tap should be fitted at the outlet from the vacuum tank.

WIRING. We recommend that when the wiring arrangement is got out for this car, consideration is given so that the cover for the valves with the coil and wiring can be taken right off the car if any work is necessary to be done. At present the wire from the battery to the ballast resistance is carried through the tube which is clipped to this cover. If there was a convenient terminal on the dashboard, the cover with the wiring tube wires coil, the ballast resistance and top of the high tension distributor could then be removed from the engine in one unit.

OIL FILLER FOR REAR AXLE. We think we should try and avoid the necessity of having to get inside the body to fill the rear axle with oil. It is not nice to have to carry oil into a delicately upholstered body.
