FOUR SPEED BOX.

Referring to AJS1/W. 17.4.25. there is nothing that I can see that the Experimental require from the Drawing Office to carry out AJS' instructions, the position being that the depth of slot we have instructed is .125 plus 5, and since LeC.2048 specifies .130 is the greatest depth of slot, this agrees with what we have actually done on production, and therefore it remains with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to settle this question of locking the speed gears in by increasing the strength of the spring in the gears referred to.

If there is anything that RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} thinks we ought to do, I would like to have a talk to him on the matter.

At present I cannot see that LeC.2048 does more than specify certain dimensions which we have already given, and therefore the matter must dissolve itself into a question of Strength of locking springs.
