I am bringing this to your notice because the position of this question is, I think, so serious that we should not be content to wait, as is suggested in the above memo. The facts are as follows - On a very large percentage of cars fitted with Rear Hydraulic Shock Absorbers which come to us for repairs, we get complaints of knocks. The Test Dept. are passing off Chassis and, with their latest experience, they are expecting complaints from Customers when the bodies are fitted. Sales Dept. are asking us questions about it, and except by obtaining specially selected Shock Absorbers we don't know what to do, and I understand that to obtain a shock absorber to the limits which are required not to knock on the worst type bodies, is hardly a reasonable manufacturing proposition.
