Archer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}6/MH.{M. Huckerby}2.12.38. HYDRAULIC JACKS - WRAITH. Trouble has been experienced due to the securing studs pulling out of the jack pump. Examination of the pump shows that the stud has not entered into the casting far enough, never having used the bottom two threads. This is most probably due to a taper tap having left the last threads undersize. We recommend on the last hundred of 'B' series that, instead of sending back the pumps, we screw a square ended tap into the holes so that all the threads are operative. The manufacturers will correct the trouble on future supplies by a deeper hole in the casting. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
