contd :- -6- between the present one and the Condor - viz: about four to one - we think would be an advantage. The depth of the float chamber should be such that it will allow the floats to raise the needle valve at least .150" from its seat. Ample clearance should be allowed round the needle valve seat - between the seat and the carburetter casting - to permit free flow of petrol from the seat. The front and rear float chambers should be connected together at the bottom by a pipe. This pipe should be not less than 1/2" bore because all the fuel has to pass through it to reach the diffusers. The fuel feed passages to the diffusers should be increased as shewn on our sketches. We think that if the float chamber were proportional on the above lines we should obtain an adequate fuel supply and satisfactory operation for a ground boosted engine. With regard to the diffusers; we have done little work on these yet but will shortly have a rig running upon which we are arranging to carry out metering experiments.
