I should like to point out that on the 10,000 mile engine bench test, two Bosch magneto contact breakers were so badly that they had to be renewed. In both cases it was the pivot with the fibre bush that gave out, in one case the pin seized in the bush and broke off, in the other case the fibre bush disappeared altogether, whether it had worn away or become loose and dropped out I could not say. It was this result, in comparison with the excellent way our standard contact breaker stood up that made me condemn the fibre bushes.

I have never heard of a case where our contact breaker has failed altogether, but that is what happened to the Bosch on the bench test.
