x4094 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/KT.18.5.33. We thank you for Ex.11209 showing the dimensions of the Marles Weller steering box required to fit the Bentley chassis. We find that in order to get the correct steering ratio with the standard Marles Weller box we shall require a 6.750" pendulum lever. As far as we can see, there will be no difficulty in fitting a 6.750" pendulum lever with regard to fouls, but should be glad if you would confirm this, and if it is correct, prepare and supply to the Adamant Eng. Co, Ltd., a lever of this length. We should also like you to despatch the standard 8.050" long pendulum lever, which we believe you have ready, as it may be possible for them to use this if they decide to produce a special box ratio for us. With the 6.750" pendulum lever, the angle shown on Ex.11225 will, of course, have to be altered to a total of 88 1/2° and we have passed this information on to the Adamant Engineering Co.
