Re E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C1 Car.

With regard to the E.A.C. car which you are sending for CJ. and me to try, will you please let us know:-

1. On what date you expect to send it to us.
2.. In what respects it will differ from the final E.A.C. as we know it now.
3. What effect will the alterations which will not be incorporated be likely to have on the eventual running - that is to say, will they give greater speed, less engine roughness, or what?
4. In the event of, say, a front spring breaking, we gather that on putting on the front brake the driver loses control of the steering. Is it possible easily to disconnect the front brakes and still leave the back brakes effective by means of the pedal? I presume that in any case one could use the hand-brake without affecting the front brakes, and that therefore if a front spring broke one could still drive safely by using only the hand-brake?
