1158. To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.2/AP.14.3.38 CAR HEATER AND DE-FROSTER - B.III. Referring to the bearing pieces for above heater instructed in By/RD.10/B.14.2.38, which we agreed with you should be held up pending costing. We have now obtained the cost figures and it is obvious that it would be cheaper to use Hoffmann ball races than the bearing for which those pieces were detailed. Will you therefore please not proceed with the manufacture of any of these pieces- we return herewith your copy of Rd's memo and blue prints with same. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. | ||
