BENTLEY 5. CHASSIS 12.B.5.

Please receive herewith the following schemes :-

F.CD.1449 Bonnet Side Fixing - rear.

F.CD.1451 'Amal' One Shot Fastener on Bonnet.

The Experimental Department wish to modernise the bonnet of the above chassis, by using the standard 'Amal' fasteners.

Unfortunately this car has a sloping dashboard, and the standard bonnet cannot be fitted in its entirety. We suggest, however, to alter the existing bonnet as follows :-

F.CD.1449 shews a simple mounting bracket to fit to the dashboard to support the bonnet side plate rear clip.

F.CD.1451 shews the bonnet face plate and rest angle altered to take hooks for the lower one shot 'Amal' fastener, together with stiffeners.

We also wish to retain clips marked A & D on F.CD.1139. The above scheme also shews the lower 'Amal' one shot fastener fitted to the bonnet side plates.

Particulars of the top 'Amal' fastener and the front bonnet support bracket are shewn on F.CD.1320, also the catch plate on the bonnet top plates.

Will you please instruct the Experimental Department to alter the existing bonnet without delay.
