Urgent experimental request to detail new valve wedges for the 20-25 HP engine inlet valves.

X534 To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} 20-25 H.P. Will you please detail valve wedges for the inlet valves so that the top face of the wedge is slightly above that of the spring cap as is the case with the exhaust valve. At the present time the wedges are approx. .050-.075 below the face of the cap, so that the valve spring has a longer length, and consequently lower seat loading than is called for on the drawing. This we require for use with standard 20/25, .310 dia. inlet valves with standard spring caps. The above is experimental and urgent. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swindall. | ||
