To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} c. to Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} 8993 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}4/KT.11.6.31. KINSMAN TYRE PUMP (HAND OPERATED). We have tested out a Kinsman Hand operated tyre pump which has been submitted to us for test. The pump tested is far the most efficient hand operated pump we have seen, but is much more tiring to use than a foot operated pump. The Kinsman pump requires only 470 strokes to inflate a 7 X 21" tyre from 0 to 50 lbs/sq.in. pressure compared with 750 strokes of the standard Nesthill Compact foot pump (present standard). We are not interested in this pump because hand pumps however efficient, are much more tiring to use than foot pumps; we are therefore returning it to the makers.
