[Handwritten notes at top] Weyman 305 Can we give them a more flexible fabric coupling to try. Does a solid piece instead of coupling make it worse? Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} [Typed text] o Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} re. Phantom III Complete Cars One of the most noticeable features on complete cars is a form of drive groan which shows itself up at speeds between 22 and 24 m.p.h. on the forward drive. This is the feature which, some little time ago, you were able to demonstrate both to yourself and to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} could be improved by the fitting of a propeller shaft damper. You will remember we fitted one to a chassis at the time Mr Pass' car was at Derby for attention to the clutch, also we tried to fit one on Mr Pass' car but we were not able to do so owing to the construction of the body. This drive groan is quite noticeable on a chassis under one of the Test body's and I feel sure that sooner or later will become a customer's complaint. [Signatures] Hill IAH | ||
