R.R. 30M. ST.{Capt. P. R. Strong} 74907/4/11/38 C.E. 6119 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT REPORT. REFERENCE:- Lr{Mr Ellor}/HWS/SQL.7/WJ.19.4.39. Subject of Report:- OSCILLOGRAPH WORK ON WRAITH IGNITION. General Conclusion:- Oscillograph records have been taken in order to make a comparison between the Rolls-Royce and Delco-Remy distributors, and an experimental distributor with a commutator type contact breaker. There is little difference in the secondary current and voltage for the Rolls-Royce and Delco distributors. There is a sign of a slightly irregular break on one of the records with the R.R. distributor at 650 RPM. This may be the cause of occasional misfiring, as it would produce a loss of spark energy. The commutator distributor gave a very poor break, which would result in a low spark energy. ------------------ Lr{Mr Ellor}/HWS/SQL.
