Another point of difference between the
Delco-Remy contact breaker and our own, which perhaps has
not beens sufficiently pointed out previously, is that in
their case the contact lever is insulated and the screw point
is earthed. Apparently there must be some feature about the
Delco-Remy which enables better results to be obtained than on
our own, but from the results of our tests there certainly
is no one particular feature indicated as being the definite
difference.

Would it be possible to have an experimental
design of contact breaker more on the lines indicated by the
above results ? The results would not appear to be, as it
might have seemed natural to suppose, a question of the
magnitude of the condenser capacity. Previous tests have
also indicated this.

In regard to corresponding simultaneous tests
on an experimental chassis, systemmatic tests on both tungsten
and platinum points on the RR. contact breaker under the
three sets of conditions of ignition equipment, viz.

A.{Mr Adams} Previous standard,
B. Present standard (finer primary coil).
C. Present standard with double ballast
resistance,

are or have been in progress. One such test, No.2C, is
referred to in the details. Of two others, both under
conditions similar to those of 2C, i.e. tungsten points with
