Dear "Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}",

You will remember when I was over in Derby I told you that Mr. Daubrée of the Michelin family, had just put his fan through his radiator, this being the second balanced fan failure on this car. Needless to say this customer, as you will see when you have read over his letter, is somewhat perturbed. I think, and he is a man whose information one can rely upon, his explanations re the 220 kms in I hour 49 minutes might be interesting.

I have told him that undoubtedly the Experimental Department will suggest that one of the test cars goes out there and attempts to put up the same performance so as to find out if there is any relation between his suggestion as above mentioned and reality.

I should be very much obliged if you could send me some dop on this matter as if this occurs again we shall really be up against some of our very important customers.

As you probably know by now, the failure is exactly the same as the previous one, in other words one of the fan blades sheares off at the rivets.

I shall await your information with interest.

Yours sincerely,
