To Ve. From Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SECRET Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/MH.{M. Huckerby}9.2.40. GUN SPECIFICATION. This is to confirm that you will prepare some statistics to show how the number of guns and quantity of ammunition that can be carried in a Spitfire or a Hurricane vary with the gun calibre. The sizes which are of particular interest at the moment are between 13.2 and 20 mm. It will also be interesting to have some indication of the effect of muzzle velocity on these figures. One other point of interest is the absolute maximum calibre which could be got into the Spitfire together with its ammunition feed. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
