Y8940 Expl: Dept: Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby, Angleterre. 16th. Mar. 1925. Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. Mr. Lidsey from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} We were very pleased to hear that you have got the car running again. You will realise the chief reason for running that car is to obtain information on any faults which occur. Our main object is not to run 10,000 miles in the shortest time. We should therefore like you to investigate any troubles which occur. With reference to the complaint of the carb. throttle sticking open badly. We are very anxious to know the cause of this. Although increasing the strength of the spring may overcome it, we should like to know the reason why it sticks sometimes and not others. With reference to the steering. On your report 4.3.25 you mention that the steering is quite good. In the previous report 3.3.25 you say - no high speed wobbles. We should like to know what alterations you have made to alter the conditions of the steering. It may, of course, be tyre pressures or lubrication. We are, however, very anxious, in all these troubles, to have from you some sort of explanation. contd :- | ||
