Since the inception of complaint reports in July 1937 there have been 44 complaints of wheel driver knock or creak. The only improvement we have run on an experimental car is the first suggestion of H.Sch.5139. The drivers made in S/ZN failed on 32.EX in France. As a precaution we then changed the production drivers to S/ZNCR, which change took place at 176 in C. The attached chart shows the mileage at which complaints have been made and the offending chassis numbers. Apart from a small batch at a low mileage of CM cars the complaints are fairly uniformly distributed. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} has agreed to adopt the Wraith type driver shown on UCD.668 at the first in E series. We will get a set of parts on 35.EX as soon as possible.
