To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Hdv. X4027a Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/AM/7.7.32. PEREGRINE. We expect to have the coachwork completely finished off by the end of this week. The car has quite a good appearance. We think it would be agreed that for a general purpose carriage there is not quite sufficient head room We hold the view that there is a prospect of the Peregrine quickly becoming a very desirabbe motorcar as long as it is given a chance. If, however, we are going to alter the size of the engine and the type of gear box then, of course, it is likely to be a long time before anything materialises The chief item on the Peregrine for which we are waiting, is the carburetter. At the moment there is no design in existence for this and therefore we are having to carry out all our tests with S.U. carburetters. Although we think the performance of the Peregrine is going to be very good, it will not be achieved with the same degree of silence and comfort which we are used to on the 25 HP. and more so on the 40/50.
