Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler}11/AP. [Handwritten] lwo August 23rd.1937 Messrs Borg & Beck Ltd., Leamington Spa. Dear Sirs, Re. 10" and 11" Clutches. We find that a number of the driven plates have a run-out greatly exceeding .010, and as much as .050 is reported. It is evident that much of this must be due to damage in transit or subsequent handling, especially as the plates are only wrapped inpaper and then packed into a box or crate for transit by rail or road. We noted that the six American Long 10" plates you recently supplied were each packed in a strong cardboard box and wesubmit this for your consideration. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
