It is certain that R. {Sir Henry Royce} has not adopted the features in our chassis which are here criticised without the deepest consideration, but it might be helpful in dealing with Mr. Mere and other critics of these points, if we could know the reasons why R. {Sir Henry Royce} has adopted the arrangements, which now exist on our chassis, when there are other more convenient arrangements in use by other people, to which there is not an obvious objection.
