Dear Sir,

Further to my letter of November 15th last, re aeroplane Engine Oils, I am compelled to be in Derby to-night and will telephone you to-morrow morning (Wednesday) and ascertain if it will be convenient for you to grant me a little of your valuable time to discuss the matter in question.

There are many points in connection with the lubrication of the Aero Engines which I should like to discuss with you. These points embody the use of a Mineral Lubricating Oil for the Rolls Royce Engines.

The points we have aimed at is to obtain one oil which will lubricate the whole of the engine, it having been our experience in the past that oil most suitable for cylinder lubrication is too thick to satisfactorily lubricate the other and more cool moving parts of the engine, thus causing friction and wear of these parts. If too thin an oil
