AW/E/5/L5313 16S Re Front Axle Pivots - X.547 Mr Hives 5-3-13 Re the above experiment, Mr Royce has sent the following instructions per Mr Spinney:- 1. Set a man to try and break pivots by steering wheels. Increase stops if necessary. 2. Try a wheel purposely out of balance running it by motor or otherwise. 3. Test material of broken ones for elastic limit and elongation. 4. Study how bent pivots have been bent, i.e. if by compression of cross tube. 5. To sum up above, reproduce fractures by either (a) Road shocks or (b) Reverse shocks or stresses and compare fractures with those of 1600E and 2243. p. A.{Mr Adams} Wormald. | ||
