Dear Mr. Robotham: Mr. Swindall's letter of the 9th September is worrying me, because I seem to be making little or no progress. Our Chairman is asking whether it will really be necessary to wait for a further test to be carried out, or whether the evidence already available would suffice: 1. Sir Malcolm Stewart's experience as specially supplied to Mr.Sidgreaves on the 6th November,1936. Copy herewith. 2. You, at Derby, have examined the Chairman's 3½-litre Bentley after 36,305 miles. 3. Your people at Hendon have opened up the 3½ and examined several times. 4. Now the Chairman's 4¼ is at your disposal, having done over 10,000 miles - details herewith - and finally, may we ask that consideration be given to the fact that our name and the quality of our oils stand second to none. I should explain that our Chairman approached Mr.Sidgreaves in this matter twelve months ago. The latter kindly promised his blessing and took it up with Derby.
