INLET VALVES.

A sheet is being issued for the inlet valves which produced completely finished by Motor Components Ltd. in S/SLV. ran satisfactorily throughout the above tests. According to Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} who has had all dealings with these valves, they represent a saving of 2/6d. per valve or 15/- per unit.

ROCKER COVER JOINT.

A Gaskoid synthetically treated joint was run satisfactorily without any leaks. It was, however, used in conjunction with Neoprene rubber bushes under the rocker nuts in place of the normal springs, owing to complaints of leaking with the latter on the last 15,000 miles on 20.G.VI.

Although the rubbers did their job, they had permanently collapsed and not considered satisfactory for standardisation in their present state.

We consider that the Gaskoid joint which is appreciably cheaper than the Vellumoid, should be tried for say, one series.
