The following comments on the 25 HP. English Rolls-Royce car are made as opinions and not as facts. Apologies are offered on account of the lack of knowledge on the part of the writer for any suggestions conflicting with standard engineering practice.

In this discussion the name "Rolls-Royce" has been purposely put out of mind and an attempt made to discuss the car as merely a motor vehicle and therefore subject, to more or less extent, to comparison with other desirable and saleable motor vehicles of the present day.

1. APPEARANCE.

The general appearance of the car, with five-passenger Sedan body by Brewster, is very good. The body has a modern note and shows many up-to-date tendencies, such as carrying of doors and sills over frameside rails, thereby covering the valences or side-splashers above running board. In all, the car presents a highly desirable and saleable appearance.

2. RIDING QUALITIES.

Here there is, in the opinion of the writer, the most outstanding substandard and most objectionable feature of the car. The front spring action is very poor and especially at low speeds. Road shocks are transmitted much too violently to chassis on rough roads at speeds less than 30 miles an hour. Clearance between frame and front axle spring clip is not
