contd:- -4- HsS/LG30. 8.21. ---------- on the Dorris scheme to ensure no leaks to upset slow running. This information is unofficial. I will keep you posted up as regards progress with the LeC. design. We are sure the LeC. is not going to give better results, or be more reliable. It only scores on appearance. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} In order to convince yourselves of the efficiency of the exhaust heated throttle, I recommend that you make a throttle the same as we have done. We have taken a standard throttle and sawn off the outside casing for the water jacket all over. We have then screwed into the top of the throttle a longer steel connection. with a collar formed on it to ensure proper clearance for the exhaust jacket. We have then fitted to this throttle a jacket made of sheet copper. This was silver soldered to the throttle. I am sure that your Coppersmith (Dickinson) would make an excellent job of this. As regards the control for the butterfly valve, we have made some simple brackets made of pieces of tube welded to sheetmetal brackets which fix under the rear cylinder studs. We operate it from existing controls. We feel that if you set about this job, in three or four days you could have the whole thing fitted up. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
