Spare SECRET. File 1121 Ex Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/HH. Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}9/26.1.40. DASHBOARD MOUNTING. SENIOR RANGE. Attached are two prints of PL.99. shewing the common dashboard of the Senior Range mounted on standard Harris Bushes. At the moment a similar mounting with Silent Bloc Bushes is used, and these have the weakness of having inadequate endwise control. Only by experiment will it be possible to discover the correct hardness for the rubber of the Harris Bushes. They should be as hard as possible consistant with the necessary reduction in tyre noise. We would like to try as an experiment the deletion of the support from the side of the frame. The scheme PL.99. applies to all cars of the Senior Range and it will be needed in particular for Silver Ripplet, 2-R-2, and Silver Phantom 31-G-7.
