A suggestion was put forward to delete the centre row of balls in the aluminium cage which supports the friction plate in the Bentley III servo. After short period of running we have found slight groving on the shaft and accordingly do not wish to reduce the number of balls. On the other hand we should like to have a cage drawn having the same number of balls arranged in a spiral or each row of 3 staggered so that they form a different line of contact on the shaft.
