Bentley B80 - Camshafts.

EB.4105 (Original). Long duration inlet and exhaust.
(Approx. same duration.)

EB.4512. Short duration inlet, exhaust duration remaining
the same as EB.4105.

Ex.33975. Angle between cams altered to give reduced overlap.

Purpose of test.

To compare the above three Camshaft on one engine.

Conditions of test.

Engine. B.80.No.1.

Cyl.Head. EB.4098 (126 c.c.) C/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 6.2:1

Note: Combustion chamber as EB.3544 (B.60 cyl.head).

Valve Springs:

Inlets. inner.(E.86364.
outer.(S.88325.

Exhaust. EB.3256.

Push Rods. EB.4709 - 4% carbon steel.

Pistons: EB.3916, Aerolite. (.040" down base)

Induction System. 1.600" bore pipe.

Stromberg AA.{D. Abbot-Anderson}25 Carburetter (Duplex)
36 m/m throttle. 1 1/2 choke.

All the tests were carried out without an air
silencer, as there was not one available at this time.
