BIJUR PUMP. N.SCH.2830.

On some chassis in the Test Dept. oil has been found to leak through the pedal slot in the Bijur pump down the dashboard when the pump is filled to the brim.
This is also reported in GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}'s latest 10,000 miles test report as being a serious fault.

We dismantled one of the offending pumps and fitted a felt washer .5" internal dia., but otherwise similar to the filter in the bottom of the pump, between the top of the gauze filter and the face on which it is meant to rest. This felt was fitted for convenience sake and is really too big for the purpose but we believe a smaller one which is a spigt fit on the pump plunger will answer the purpose just as well.

We shall be glad if you will instruct similar washers so that the Test Dept. can be remedying their leaking pumps as soon as possible, as the above modification has been found to cure the fault.
