Hsl/LGS.12.22. SPRING FOR CLOSING MAIN THROTTLE WHEN STARTER CARBURETTER IS FITTED. We have had considerable difficulty with the present standard torsional spring in getting the loading of the spring consistent and equal on all throttles. If the spring is too strong, the throttle control lever on the steering column has to be put further up the quadrant to obtain the slow running position. The new scheme, instead of a torsional spring, an extension spring is used and the centers are arranged so that the loading remains practically constant over the entire range. We consider this is a definite improvement over the present arrangement and should be adopted as soon as possible. There will be no scrap. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
