BJ. FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to WCR. " HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " PY. " SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} CONFIDENTIAL. R2/M22.11.28. ORIGINAL SS.{S. Smith} X7770 I was so sorry I could not see you and SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} on Thursday. Events seem to point more strongly to the fact that we must have SS.{S. Smith} in the autumn (i.e. at the Show). For instance, we want the RRAI. 200 chassis. If we have too many present ones we should at once stop the production of say the last 100., even if it means some scrap, or addition to stock against repairs. Some of the materials and parts can be transferred, but the larger and most expensive parts cannot yet be made, and can be stopped - i.e. springs, frames, axles, aluminium castings, crankshafts, dashboards, and radiators. Some of the improvements really are very encouraging and should help sales and costs. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
