x8230 To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from BJ. Copy to..... R.{Sir Henry Royce} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BF. BJ5/H9.10.25. (Dict. 8th). "NEW PHANTOMCodename for PHANTOM I" EXHAUST SYSTEM. After yesterday's conference I was informed by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} that in their opinion the latest exhaust system was sufficiently satisfactory for there to be no risk in our putting this in hand for production forthwith, in parallel with the 10,000 miles test which is starting next week. We are anxious to cease delivering the present standard exhaust, which is noisy and getting us into trouble with customers, and we therefore look on the introduction of the new type, such as we are now using on our open demonstration car, as being a matter of urgency. Will you please arrange accordingly? Will this necessitate much scrap? B.J. | ||
