General Manager: T.C. SKINNER. Your Ref.__________ Our Ref. TCS/DR June 16/31. W.A.Rowbotham Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Mr. Rowbotham, Thanks for yours of the 13th inst. I am sorry I have not replied before but I have been out of town for a few days. As regards the carburetters for the 40/50 h.p. engine, we propose making these in "Y" alloy which is a metal requiring heat treatment, and although the order for the castings was placed immediately on my return from Derby they are not yet to hand. One of the reasons for the delay is that the B'ham cyclone has completely disorganised the foundry, the place being flooded out, and power cut off, &c. We are, however, pushing on with the job as quickly as possible. I am also putting through two 1 3/4" downdraught carburetters which will be finished shortly. As regards the Petrolift, there is no difficulty whatever in delivering the quantity you require. We have already sent you one pump on, but we are sending another. Kind regards. Yours sincerely, for T.C. Skinner O.R. Dictated but not read or signed. ENGINEERING AND ALLIED EMPLOYERS' NATIONAL FEDERATION | ||
