Messrs. Smith & Sons (M.A.) Ltd.,
Cricklewood Works,
London, N.W.2.

For the attention of Mr. Bailey.

Dear Sirs,

We are despatching to you to-day one Hydraulic Pump and reservoir unit.

This has been removed from chassis 28-EX as this last few days it has persistently leaked.

The writer dismantled the unit to see whether or no any foreign matter was fouling a valve, but no trace could be found, but it would appear that this was the cause of the trouble.

However, we should like you to check same over and have your report when returning the unit.

You will notice that the pump operating arm needs replacing. This has become loose at some period and through constant use has sheered, and in endeavouring to tighten up the locking screw has also sheered.

Will you please returned the unit at the earliest possible moment.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
