We should be pleased if you would open out the smaller bore of the union body issued experimentally under RS.{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}273, and for production under detail E.88032, from .201" diameter to .265" diameter. Experiment has shown that this increase is necessary to obtain the required maximum petrol flow.
The Americans are able to use a smaller bore than is possible with our pump because their petrol is supplied under a pressure of 3 lbs. per sq.inch, as compared with the 2 lbs. per sq.inch which our pump delivers.
