The British Goodrich Rubber Co. Ltd.,
Derby Road,
Burton-on-Trent,
Staffs.

For the attention of Mr. Skellon.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to our discussion at Derby yesterday, we are enclosing a sketch of the rubber gland (Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}793) that we require. The dimensions on the drawing are those of the space allotted for the rubber, and not necessarily the dimensions of the rubber before assembly.

The gland should be capable of retaining a mineral oil of 45ºC. up to 4 lbs/sq.in. pressure. There is no adjustment for the gland, so that the initial setting must be retained.

Will you please supply us with three different grades of rubber and let us have twelve rubber rings off each grade. In all a total of 36 rings.

It is most important that we should have these rubbers as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,

For Rolls-Royce Ltd.

Attached Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}793.
