Replying to your memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/2/R.31.7.37, the new parts for the axle were handed over to the Paris Depot on Thursday evening July 22nd. The subsequent progress was as follows:-

Friday 23rd. Pressure of Customers' jobs made it impossible for axle to receive attention.

Sunday 25th)

[A handwritten brace joins the following three lines]
Monday 26th )
Tuesday 27th ) Axle being built up
Wednesday 28th) and gears fitted [Handwritten checkmark]

Thursday 29th Chateauroux testers drove to Depot in morning. Axle completed and handed over at II a.m. Testers fitted axle to car and returned to Chateauroux by 7 p.m.

We understand that during the three days actually devoted to the job, it was frequently necessary for the fitter to be called off for customers' jobs.
