of this system.
Two of the possible arrangements showing the Smith cut-out as a separate unit with the distribution board, are shown in diagrams labelled (3) & (4).
x.4169. On diagram (3), the only new part is a small distribution board containing positive and negative connections and a main dynamo fuse. It might be considered that this diagram would represent the most expedient method of making up the system of Smith dynamo and cut-out.
We have put the various possibilities before you in the above way in order to avoid as far as possible the scheming out of systems which never materialize. We think it would be a good idea if you would send us a sketch, similar to those now sent to you, in which the various units are shown in their inter-relation, so that there can be no doubt as to the arrangement of the system which you think we should adopt.
x.3659 x.3923 In Mr. Elliott's E1/G22.7.20, there appears the following passage -
"On inspecting the connections of the battery, Mr. Royce remarked that there should be no earth connection near the battery and that the only earth connection on the system should be the detachable one on the distribution board".
This was with reference to chassis 6 EX for the earthed wiring scheme. We do not understand this passage, as one considers an earthed wiring scheme to be one in which
