Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} X7230. Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}12/T28.5.30. PHANTOM II EXHAUST SYSTEM We find that the triangular flat plate attached to the lower half crankcase on Exhaust Downpipe invariably bends during tests. Until quite recently we were of the opinion that this bending took place during the dynamometer testing, but we now find that it may happen under road running conditions only. I noticed this week end the plate on 18-EX bends in a similar manner. The Repair Dept. have had two cases of this happening being brought to their notice by customers, and the point was also raised by PN{Mr Northey} when he was at the works recently. We shall be glad to know what action you consider should be taken in the matter. Sample plate herewith. | ||
