I do not think actual misfiring occurred, due to this but we cleaned them up when we were investigating the missing due to sticky and leaking valves. The points were very bad however and I do not think they could have gone much longer without missing. It was remarkable that they worked as well as they did considering their condition.
I will write to Wallace to see if he can arrange for a 40/50 to be sent down here to make the comparison which you think would be useful
