re. NEW PHANTOMCodename for PHANTOM I STEERING.

20-SC. Offord for Mr. Bruce Gardner.

I would refer you to my memo EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}9/H26.3.26. in which I pointed out that Sales Dept. agreed that special stiffening bracket should be fitted to the steering of the above car if at all possible. It was stated at the time that it was not possible to do this.

I shall be glad if the matter can now have further consideration, and if possible, arrangements made for this stiffening bracket to be fitted to the above car at once.

As you are aware, this gentleman is a friend and co-director with Mr. Geoffrey Summers, and I feel that there will certainly be a complaint with regard to the steering of this car, and that everything possible should be done.

A new type steering has already been fitted.

The matter is urgent as Mr. Evans is expecting to carry out the final test of the car on Friday the 21st. inst. so that the customer can use the car, at least temporarily, during the Whitsuntide holidays.

EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}

P.S.

It is also recommended that this stiffening bracket should be fitted on 53-LC. Mr.Charters' car & Mr Summers car.
