In view of the following facts, we suggest that the Expl: Dept: were justified in sending 7-EX car to London for the Administration and Sales to examine. Before the car was sent, we spoke to B.J. on the telephone and told him that we understood from the driver who took the car W.W., that Mr. Royce was not pleased with the appearance of the car. It was still agreed that the car should be sent to London.
When we originally rigged up 7-EX, there was no intention that that car should be used as a model to judge the shape of the radiator and bonnet. We do not think it is possible to get a correct idea of the final appearance of the bonnet and radiator unless they are fitted on to a complete car with proper scuttle and body.
R.{Sir Henry Royce} had seen this same size of bonnet and radiator on 9-PK car which was taken to WW. at Whitsuntide and no complaint was raised. We agree there were slight differences on 9-PK radiator such as - straight sides instead of taper, but the dimensions of the bonnet line which has been criticised was identical to that on 7-EX.
The Administration and Sales had approved of the shape of the radiator and bonnet on the Sports model car which are identical to those fitted to 7-EX.
Material has been ordered for months for radiators
