| -16- ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. Instrument Board LOP.DR.191. H.R.Sch.1110. Combined dimmer switch and fixed resistance for 3 volt bulbs in series. The illumination and range of the dimmer switch were satisfactory. Several bulbs failed. Locating a faulty bulb was a somewhat complicated procedure and it was found essential that all the bulbs were exactly matched. The instrument lamps did not turn off with the master switch. This requires correction. Battery box & fittings LOP.DR.212. Battery box painted with "Ruotex" paint. It was not necessary to attend to the battery fittings during the mileage. Wiring and-fittings LOP.DR.159. A short circuit of the near side headlamp wire was experienced due to chafing against the inner end of the top suspension lever below the radiator. There is a scheme to continue the frame conduit up the radiator yoke. This should be used on production. The raised position of the junction box for the tail and stop lamps was effective in protecting it from stones and should be recommended to coachbuilders. The insulation broke down on twin wire from the steering column horn switch to the junction box on the frame. This was due to oil and petrol softening the rubber covering. Petrol proof rubber should be used for the insulation of this particular wire. | ||
