MIDLAND HOTEL, DERBY. 6TH APRIL 1921.

X.3457. (5) 40/50 H.P. Chassis, Defects and Improvements.

Many points were raised, including Back axles.
It was agreed that we should use up the 350 16 tooth back axles which are at present in stock, but that we should use 15 tooth on Colonial and American cars and also cars which are very heavy. (Being a matter of policy concerning expenditure and reputation this was referred to the Board on 8th April who decided to scrap the 16 tooth gears and use only 15 tooth gears and the matter was referred to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} for report as to possibility of doing so.)

It was stated that the 14 tooth back axle is now in the Experimental Dept. and it was hoped a report could soon be issued.

It wasagreed that all other items under this heading should be discussed later between EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} and H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} and a report sent to BJ.
