Road tests for the Hispano steering system, measuring loads in the steering tube during turns.

The lay out of the Hispano System. Particulars of the steering box will be given later.

A few tests were taken on the road to determine the load in the side steering tube when turning a rt. angled corner and for the Hispano these loads are shown plotted against the tyre pressure for right & left hand turns. The front of this car was loaded to give approx. the same lot. as the E.A.B.

E.A.B III axle gave average loads of 238. lbs. in the side steering tube for a rt. hand turn and 326 lbs for a lt. hand turn.
