Inefficient Brakes after Washing Cars.

Tests carried out on 2-B-IV fitted with steel shoes and M.R. linings.

In order to try and overcome this trouble we grooved all the footbrake linings thus -

to see whether the method of removing oil quickly from the synchromesh cone surfaces would be effective also for water on brake linings.

No beneficial effect of the grooves could be found.
