-----------
Referring to your Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/HP.7.8.36. in reply to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}17/JH.31.7.36. based on Mr. Scholes's findings at Cricklewood, we have passed the modification suggested by DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} through to the Works, the modification in question being that dealt with in his paragraph reading as follows :-

" There is, however, a danger that the tapping hole maybe drilled too deeply in the cover, and as there is plenty of room between the lubricating elbow and the engine crankcase, we suggest that the boss on the cover should be increased in height .050 (that is, towards the crankcase) and the tapping hole retained the same depth from the boss face as now, so giving a little more latitude for error in drilling. Could the detail be altered accordingly. "
